The National Emergency Briefing is a 50-minute UK-focused documentary and initiative that presents stark scientific facts regarding the climate and nature crisis to motivate emergency government and societal action.

Overview and Origin
  • The Launch: The project originated from a live event in late November 2025 at Central Hall Westminster, where independent scientists and experts briefed over 1,200 leaders from politics, business, and civil society.
  • The Film: Chaired by author Mike Berners-Lee and introduced by naturalist Chris Packham, the presentations were adapted into a 50-minute film (“People’s Emergency Briefing”) designed for nationwide community screenings throughout 2026.
  • Core Message: Experts emphasize that the UK is one of the most nature-depleted nations globally, facing immediate threats to food supplies, public health, and national security from extreme weather and ecological breakdown.
